About This Blog
My name is Lindsay and I live with my husband + our two year old daughter in Winnipeg, Canada.
I’m not a chef. I’m not a nutritionist. I’m not anything that really qualifies me to have a food blog (although I enjoy cooking… and EATING).
I’ve lived with rheumatoid arthritis since I was 10 and fibromyalgia + chronic fatigue since my early 20s. I think I can safely say that, at this point, I’ve tried everything. I’ve done hideous amounts of some hideous drugs (and not the fun kind). I’ve signed up for some truly bizarre alternative therapies. I’ve spent a small fortune – and a good portion of my sanity – searching for health + happiness. I have yet to find a miracle cure… But I have definitely come to realize that the better I eat, the better I feel.
This year, as part of my ongoing quest to live as awesomely as I possibly can, I’m exploring NAET therapy – a Chinese practice that involves acupuncture, a strict diet, and weekly eliminations.
At the advice of my therapist, I’m following a very strict complementary diet that I’ve dubbed ‘psychoallergenic’ because it’s not *quite* hypoallergenic – and it’s definitely a little bit crazy. It’s totally dairy-free and mostly gluten-free, and I’ve also eliminated refined sugar, preservatives, coffee, alcohol, nightshade vegetables (including potatoes, peppers, tomatoes), and a handful of other things that have been weighing me down – both literally and figuratively.
It’s not a cure-all diet for everyone, but it’s helping me. This blog is a way for me to collect my best recipes all in one spot, and to share them with friends + family. Everything I post here has been tried (and enjoyed) in my kitchen.
If you’re visiting and these recipes can help you too, I’m so very happy to help.
Happy Eating!
Lindsay
Hi Lindsay,
I live in Victoria, BC, and started a hypoallergenic diet with my naturopath in mid-February. I’ve had some fantastic results, but am always on the look-out for new and fun meal ideas (ya know, to keep things interesting). You’re blog is a fantastic resource for me, and I really appreciate you taking the time to share your meal ideas. I will continue to share it with my other allergy-pals

That’s so awesome, Megan! I’m so happy to hear that this blog is helping other people. Thank you for taking the time to comment – and please feel free to pass along any of your own recipe ideas, because I’m always on the look out too!
